Versatile and melodic, from Classical to Jazz to Pop, the lilting voice of Coloratura Soprano Bonnie Bowden has graced stages and media across the globe for over 25 years. Born in Bessemer, Alabama, Bonnie began singing at the age of three. Throughout her Texas childhood she performed in schools, churches and talent shows. Her budding talent and promising young spirit were recognized with high school accolades as a four time gold medalist in “Solo Classical Performance” in the University of Texas Interscholastic League competitions.
Bonnie’s first professional singing job was at Six Flags Over Texas. Moving to California, she landed a position at Disneyland on the Tomorrowland Sound Castle Stage. From there she joined Sergio Mendes Brasil '77 and toured the world many times over. Her TV credits include several appearances on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show, the Merv Griffin Show and the Mike Douglas Show.
Throughout her career she has performed and/or recorded with a variety of great musicians, arrangers and producers. To name a few, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Stevie Wonder, Bones Howe, Paul Smith, Dave Grusin, Hubert Laws, George Duke and Tom Scott.
She is equally at home on stage or in studio and her vocal solos have been featured on 31 albums. A multilingual performer, she sings in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Latin and Portuguese. Her vocal recording of Victor Herbert's "Indian Summer", an arrangement by Sammy Nestico was nominated for a 2009 Grammy.
